Privacy Policy

Dugout Direct (“we,” “us”) provides a wireless play-calling system for baseball and softball coaches, consisting of this management console, a companion mobile app, and paired hardware (a coaching hub and player watches). This policy explains what information we collect through the app and console, why, and how it's protected.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and a securely hashed password for coaches and team administrators.
- Team and roster information: team name, age group/season, and player roster details a coach enters — typically first name, jersey number, and field position.
- Play-calling content: the custom plays, categories, and pitch locations a coach builds for their team.
- Device pairing information: a per-team encryption key and the coaching hub's Bluetooth identifier, used to keep a team's play calls private from nearby teams' equipment.
How we use this information
Solely to operate the Dugout Direct service: authenticating coaches, syncing a team's roster and plays across the app and console, and delivering play calls to the correct devices. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or third-party marketing.
Bluetooth use
The mobile app uses Bluetooth exclusively to communicate directly with a team's own coaching hub — a physical device the team owns. This is short-range, point-to-point communication for delivering play calls; it is not used to track a device's location, and no Bluetooth data is shared with third parties.
Children's information
Dugout Direct is used by coaches and team administrators, not directly by youth players. Roster entries for young athletes (first name, jersey number, position) are entered and controlled by the team's coach as part of ordinary roster management. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, do not collect photographs or other sensitive identifiers as part of the roster feature, and do not market to children.
Third-party service providers
We use Microsoft Azure to host the application, database, and backend services, and Azure Communication Services to send transactional email (account invitations, password resets). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments and do not use it for their own purposes.
Data security
Passwords are stored as salted cryptographic hashes, never in plain text. Data in transit between the app, console, and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Play calls broadcast between a team's hub and its own devices are separately encrypted per-team (AES-128-GCM), so a nearby team's equipment cannot read or interfere with another team's signals.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account and team data for as long as an account is active. To request deletion of your account or team data, contact us at the address below — we'll confirm and process the request.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised policy at this same address.
